Govt imposes ban on installing advertisements hoardings on Chinar trees

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has imposed a ban on installing advertisement and signboards on Chinar trees in Kashmir.

An order issued by Director Industries and Commerce Kashmir said that General Secretary J&K Society for Trekking and Environment preservation has brought into the notice that schools, coaching institutes, industrial units and others are using unjudicious use of signboards and other allied materials by way of fixing them in Chinar trees which damages them and ruins the natural beauty of the tree.

The order further said that the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has directed all the Deputy Commissioners to impose a blanket ban on such activities and all such board be removed from Chinar trees.
