Srinagar: Clashes erupted between government forces and civilian protesters in Arwani village of Bijbehara in southern Anantnag district Wednesday morning.

Witnesses said that clashes erupted after a joint team of government forces launched a cordon and search operation in Darpora locality of Arwani.

They said that soon as the forces laid the siege, scores of youth hit streets and pelted stones on the government forces.

The clashes amidst the search operation were going on when this report was being filed.
