Govt Force’s called off search operation from Verinag forests

Srinagar: The search operation by army and police were called off in south Kashmir’s Nowgam area of Verinag.

Two foreign Jaish-e-Mohammad militants are believed to have managed escape, according to the official sources

One local Jaish  militant, Iqbal Ahmad of Nowpora Dooru got killed in the start of operation. His dead body is lying with police after it was released by the 19 RR army camp at Larkipora near Dooru, locals said.

According to officials, Ahmad was recycled militant. 36 year old was associated with Harkatul Mujahideen in early years following which he was arrested. He joined jaish eight months back.

Meanwhile, abrupt shutdown was observed in the area and massive clashes broke out in Dooru and adjoining villages throughout the day against the killing of Ahmad.

Forces fired tear gas shells and  pellets to disperse the angry protesters.

Internet services have been snapped in the entire district.
