Traders'' bodies hail GK Editor for nomination to Editors'' Guild

Editor Greater Kashmir, Fayaz Kaloo

Srinagar: Editor Greater Kashmir, Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, Saturday resigned from the basic membership of Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG).

Kaloo addressed his letter of resignation to General Secretary KEG.

It is with heavy heart that I’m writing this letter to you. The purpose of the letter is to express my desire to resign from the basic membership of the guild. Though it pains me a lot, but I couldn’t see any purpose in continuing with the membership. The guild was formed with a certain purpose, and with an aim to promote certain ideas and practices. But over a period of time I discovered that the members of the guild don’t support and cooperate in furthering the basic purpose of this body. I waited a lot in the expectation that things might change for better, but my expectations didn’t come through. Finally I decided to quit. This is my letter of resignation from the basic membership.

While I’m leaving the Guild, I wish this body good luck.

Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo”

The resignation has come in the backdrop of government decision to ban advertisement to the newspaper.
