Srinagar: A young man who had gone missing on Friday afternoon in Doban village in Onagam area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district was found dead in upper reaches of Douban forest area of the district on Saturday.

An official said that Chachee Chowan son of Rajwali Chowan, a resident of Doban village had gone to the nearby forest yesterday afternoon to collect firewood but didn’t return home.

“His family members and locals started a search and his body was found in the upper reaches of Douban area,” the official said. He said that Chachee might have fallen from a tree and died on the spot.

“We have recorded the statement of the locals and family members of the deceased and started investigation,” the official said. (KNO)
