Amid search operation GDC, Hr Sec Schools closed, internet suspended in Sopore

Sopore: The authorities on Thursday suspended mobile internet services and shut down educational institutions in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district as government forces launched a cordon and search operation in Banpura, Dangerpora village.

Reports said that a joint team of Army’s 22 RR, CRPF and SOG cordoned off Danderpora village after launched door-to-door searches.

A police officer said the search operation was launched in the area following the presence of militant in the area.

The area continues to be under forces’ siege and there was no exchange of gunfire when this report was being filed.

He said the mobile Internet was suspended as a “precautionary measure”.

Earlier government forces including army launched cordon and search operation and started door to door searches in area.

Meanwhile, as precautionary measure authorities have ordered closure of Govt Boys and Girls HR  secondary school Sopore, Govt Hr Secondary school Dangerpora in Tehsil Dangerpora and Govt Degree college Sopore.
