Jammu: The India and Pakistan armies on Wednesday exchanged heavy gunfire along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said that Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control this morning in Shahpur sector of Poonch.

“Indian Army effectively retaliated as Pakistani troops yet again violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked on the Line of Control,” they said.

They said that in the last 24 hours, Pakistan violated the truce agreement four times on LoC and IB.

“Indian Army is strongly retaliated to the intermittent firing to cross border firing,” they said.
