Last surviving militant of ‘Burhan Wani Group’ among 2 militants slain in Shopian gunfight

Srinagar: The last surviving militant of “Burhan group” has been killed among two militants in a Friday morning gunfight with government forces in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Lateef Ahmad Dar alias Tiger, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, a resident of Dogripora village was part of the popular Burhan Wani group and was a category A++ militant and was said to be a close aid of Hizb commander Riyaz Naikoo. Dar was killed along with Tariq Molvi in a gunfight in Imam Sahib area of Shopian district.

Lateef was a class 12 drop out and was a carpenter by profession before joining militancy in 2014.
