BJP’s Shahnawaz Hussain lashes out at Omar, Mehbooba during Anantnag convention

Anantnag: BJP National Spokesperson Shah Nawaz Hussain on Thursday took a dig at both former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah and said that BJP becomes a communal party for them when they are out of power and the same BJP is secular when they are supposed to share power with it.

Addressing a gathering of BJP Party workers at Dak Bunglow Anantnag to seek votes for party candidate Sofi Yousuf, Shahnawaz said, “When Omar Abdullah was MoS in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s cabinet, National Conference didn’t see any fault with BJP’s policies at that time and considered us a highly secular party and the PDP is sailing in the same ship, when Mehbooba Mufti was in alliance with us and became Chief Minister of J&K with only our support, then she and her party used to shower praises on Narendra Modi’s leadership and BJP’s policies”.

“All of a sudden when being out of power both the mainstream regional parties are misleading people by saying that BJP is anti-Muslim & anti-Kashmir after tasting power only by virtue of us,” Hussain said.

Talking to media on the sidelines of the BJP convention,  Shahnawaz said, “Hurriyat has lost its existence in valley as today it can see a huge rally of BJP supporters  in Anantnag that too despite of a shutdown call given by them”.

Replying to a question regarding Malegaon accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh’s mandate given by BJP Hussain said that Sadhvi has been acquitted of all charges by the court and it is her right to contest the elections.
