PC activist injured seriously after falling from vehicle during election rally in Handwara

Srinagar: A 37- year old activist of Peoples Conference was injured critically after he fell from a moving vehicle near Bakhihaker in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday afternoon.

Reports said that the man Mushtaq Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir, a resident of Bhawan Watser, Rajwar suddenly fell off from a loadcarrier vehicle near Bakhihaker.

The mishap occurred when the load carrier part of the calvalcade was heading towards Handwara to attend a public gathering campaign by PC Chairman Sajad Gani Lone.

In the incident, Mir suffered critical injuries and was immediately taken to district hospital Handwara in unconscious state.

A doctor who operated upon the injured said that the condition of Mir is serious.

After being treated upon, Mir was referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment. A police officer confirmed the incident and said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered.

A police officer said that they have taken cognizance of the incident and is is being investigated under what circumstances the mishap took place. (GNS)
