Lahore: The PM of Pakistan on an invitation by Chinese president Xi Jinping will pay a three day visit to China in April to attend the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

The event is schedule to be held in Beijing, in the last week of April, which will be attended by head of states and delegates of more than 100 countries. PM Imran Khan will be leaving to China on 27th April.

In the sidelines of the event, the PM will be holding key meetings with several officials, The Nation reported.

Besides, he will meet his Chinese counterpart and President Xi Jinping for analysing progress achieved on the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Importantly, the overall ongoing developments between Pakistan and China will be discussed in the meetings.

On March 25, China deposited $2.2 billion in the State Bank of Pakistan making the total amount of $ 4.2 billion received by the Pakistan in the current fiscal year (2019).

According to the central bank’s latest weekly report, the SBP reserves stood at $8.84 billion as on March 15, 2019.

China has invested $62 billion worth of infrastructure projects in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which is umbrella project of President Xi Jinping’s ambitious Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). (UNI)
