BJP’s stand on Art 35A, 370 same: Madhav, ‘have asked ECI to hold J&K assembly elections at earliest’

BJP leader Ram Madhav

Srinagar: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Ram Madhav Wednesday said they have asked the Election Commission of India (ECI) to hold the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest.

Madhav lashed out the two main regional parties of the state – National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)- saying that both the parties are happy contesting the Lok Sabha elections while BJP wants to have the assembly election in the state.

“Both NC and PDP are happy in contesting the general elections while we have asked Election Commission to hold assembly elections in the state as early as possible,” Madhav said while addressing a press conference in Srinagar.

He said that after the BJP pulled out of the coalition with PDP, the situation in Kashmir has improved.

Ram Madhav said that his party’s stand on Article 370 and 35(A) continues to remain the same.
