Srinagar: Government forces Tuesday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, official sources said.

They said acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants at village Mandajan Shopian, troops of Rashitriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and Central Paramilitary Forces (CPMF) launched a CASO early this morning.

The forces sealed all exit points and started house-to-house search operations, they said, adding that the operation was still going on when the reports last came in.
