Srinagar: One militant has been killed in an ongoing gunfight in Gadha pora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Official sources confirmed to KNO that one militant has been killed and exchange of fire is on. However the body of the slain is yet to be ascertained.

Earlier on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area, a joint team of forces including 34 RR and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police launched search operation in Gadha pora Ratnipora area of Shopian.

On intensifying search operation towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces which was retailated triggered encounter.

Meanwhile in wake of the gunfight Internet services have been snapped in Shopian while in other parts of South Kashmir it has been reduced to 2G .(KNO)
