Srinagar: The casual labourers of Roads and Buildings; and Public Health Engineering departments on Monday locked the head offices in protest against the non-payment of salaries for last one year.

The protesting employees told The Kashmir Press that they have not been paid their dues for over one year.

“Despite repeated pleas to the departments, our salaries have not be released thus far, they said, adding that the employees will go on a pro-longed strike in case their salaries are not released forthwith.

Meanwhile, reports said that the casual laborers of the two departments have also locked several district offices of the departments against similar issues.
