Srinagar: Government forces burst teargas shells to disperse demonstrators who were pelting stones in Tral area of south Kashmir, where two militants were killed during overnight encounter.
Official sources said that when the forces were leaving Reshi and Mir Mohalla on Tuesday after killing two militants in an encounter which ensued last night, demonstrators, mostly youths, pelted stones on their vehicles.
Forces and state police personnel deployed there immediately swung into action and resorted to lathicharge to disperse the demonstrators which had no impact as the youths were regrouping and pelting stones. Later forces burst teargas shells to chase away the demonstrators, they said adding clashes were still going on when the reports last came in.
Meanwhile, business and other activities remained paralysed in Tral and adjoining areas. The authorities have snapped mobile internet service since last night. (UNI)
