Attacks on Kashmiri students, traders in India shameful: Mirwaiz

Srinagar: Terming the attacks on Kahsmiri students and traders in parts of mainland India as shameful, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday prayed for the safety and wellbeing of all.

Mirwaiz said that open threats of boycott and expulsion of Kashmiri students is condemnable.

He said that the people of Kashmir will uphold the Kahsmiri tradition of ensuring safety of outsiders at all cost.

“The attacks on Kashmiri students &traders in parts of India is shameful. Open threats of boycott & expulsion of students is condemnable. My prayers for the safety and well being of all.People of Kashmir will always uphold our tradition of ensuring safety of outsiders at all cost. (SIC),” Mirwaiz tweeted.

Dozens of Kashmiri students have been beaten in parts of mainland India while several others have been rusticated from universities and other educational institutes for alleged “anti-national” activities.

Arsonists and mobsters in Jammu torched vehicles of dozens of Kashmiris in Jammu and attacked their residential quarters.

The attacks came in the aftermath of Pulwama suicide bombing that left 49 CRPF personnel dead and several others injured.
