Poonch: Government forces Monday launched a massive cordon and search operation in Manjkote area of Poonch district following “suspicious movement” of militants.

Official sources said that army’s 37 and 39 RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police launched the joint operation amid reports of suspicious movement of militants in the area.

SHO Mendhar Inayat Ahmad said that the search operation has been launched following “suspicious movement” of the militants in the area.

The search operation has been extended to Baloni and Ghani areas of Kishan Ghati sectors. “All these areas have a thick forest cover,” the officials added. (GNS)
