Srinagar-Jammu highway to remain shut for fourth consecutive day

Srinagar: Kashmir highway will remain closed Thursday for the fourth consecutive day following fresh snowfall in Banihal and adjoining areas.

Officials said that the road is slippery near Jawahar Tunnel due to fresh snowfall. “Traffic cannot be allowed on the highway as the road has turned slippery,” the official said.

He said that a big landslide had also hit the highway in Anokhi Fall area of Ramban district due to incessant rain.

“The traffic movement willl be allowed on the highway only after the weather improves and snowfall stops,” he said.
