Multiple rounds of funeral prayers held for slain Al-badr commander Zeenat-ul-Islam

Srinagar: Despite over dozen people getting injured during  clashes with forces, multiple rounds of funeral prayers were held for the slain Al-Badar Commander, Zeenat-ul-Islam at his native Sugan village located in Shopian district.

According to the witnesses, thousands of people poured into the village to offer funeral prayers for the slain commander.

The witnesses said people  continue to drop at the residence of Zeenat to offer condolences and funeral prayers.

Earlier, the army, police and CRPF have sealed all the roads, leading to the Sugan village to stop the flow of mourners attending the funeral prayers.

However, as the clashes which ensued between troops and the youth, leaving four youngsters critically injured, the authorities  removed the deployment and barricades.

“The barricades have now been lifted and deployment of army, police and CRPF has now been removed after injuring our youths, one of whom is critical,” said a local. “They tried to prevent the funeral and nobody on earth can prevent us from discharging a religious obligation more so when it is about youths who lay lives for our collective cause,” locals said

Zeenat-ul-Islam alias Dr Usman and his associate Shakeel Ahmad Dar of Chillipora Shopian were killed in a brief encounter At Kathpora village in Yaripora.
