Three narcotic smugglers held with poppy straw in Jammu

Jammu, Jan 12 (UNI) Three narcotic smugglers were arrested with the contraband of poppy straw in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Saturday.

”On a tip-off, a special naka was laid this morning at T chowk in Banihal and the trio was arrested with 42.5 kg poppy straw, ” police here said.

The accused were identified as Satpal Singh, Mandir Singh and Gurjeet Singh, all residents of Jagranu in Ludhiana, Punjab.

A case under the NDPS Act was registered and investigation started.
