Srinagar: Government forces including army, police and paramilitary CRPF launched a cordon and search operations (CASO) in Sheermal village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

According to the witnesses, the forces resorted to house to house searches since they suspect that militants are hidden in the area.

Soon after the CASO, youths came out of their houses and started staging protests and pelting stones on the troopers.

The forces responded by firing tear gas canisters and pellets.

The clashes were continuing till the last report came in.
