Jammu: One person was killed and another injured when a car they were travelling in plunged into a gorge in Batote tehsil of Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir.

“A car bearing (JK19 4708) on the way from Batote to Ludhwal while crossing the Petrol Pump Tringla Ludhwal this morning rolled into a 50 metres deep gorge near Batote,” police here said.

They said that one person identified as Tirath Ram died on the spot while another named Pankaj Kumar got critically injured. Injured person has been shifted to Sher-e-Kashmir Memorial Hospital Batote, after medical first aid he was referred to Jammu.
