Clashes amid shutdown in south Kashmir’s Pulwama following militant killings

Srinagar: A spontaneous shutdown was being observed in Pulwama town amid fierce clashes between government forces and local youth against the killing of local militant Firdous Ahmad of Muchpuna village in Bijbehara gunfight.

Reports said that soon after the news about the killing of Firdous Ahmad spread, all shops business establishments closed in the town while traffic went off the roads.

“Youths took to streets and clashed with the government forces deployed in the main town. The forces used ter smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesters.”
