After a prolonged house detention, Geelani drives to Sopore

Srinagar: After remaining under house detention for almost a decade Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani was today allowed to visit Sopore where his son-in-law passed away on Tuesday.

Hurriyat sources said that Geelani left at around 1 pm from his Hyderpora residence and will be visiting her daughter.

Geelani’s son-in-law Ghulam Hassan Makhdoomi died in SKIMS on Tuesday night, but he could not attend the funeral prayers owing to ailing health and bad weather conditions, Hurriyat sources said.
