Srinagar: A special police officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir Police was killed on Friday after a vehicle he was travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Bhabore area of Doda district. Two brothers have received serious injuries in the accident.

A private carrier on way to Doda from Gath while negotiating a sharp curve at Bhabore skidded off the road and fell in 150 ft deep gorge.

The three persons on board the vehicle were rescued and shifted to Doda hospital for treatment. However, reports said one of them was declared dead on arrival.

The deceased identified as Irfan Ahmad, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh of Bhabore was working as SPO under belt number 385 in Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The injured have been identified as Mohsin Ali and Liyakat Ali, both sons of Ghulam Ali, residents of Roti Padyerna, Doda.
