Three Punjab truckers feared dead in landslide on Kashmir highway

Srinagar: Three persons onboard a trucker from Punjab are feared dead on Srinagar-Jammu highway after a massive landslide hit the road on Monday.

Reports said three persons were on board an apple-laden truck on Monday when a massive landslide hit the highway near Battery Cheshma in Ramban.

They said that the relatives of the three persons approached the authorities and narrated the apprehensions about the accident and the death of their three relatives.

An official said that a rescue operation was launched on Wednesday after the relatives of the missing persons approached them with the claim that their kin might have come under the slide.

Reports said that the relatives claimed that the trio had called them from Qazigund on Monday saying they will reach Jammu in the evening on the same day.

They said that their last location has also been traced to Ramsoo area.
