Sehrai thanks people who participated in protest against ‘oppression in Kashmir’ during Arba’een walk

Srinagar: Chairman Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai on Wednesday thanked the people of Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Nigeria including many Kashmiris, who were part of the Arba’een walk and staged a silent protest against the “oppression in Kashmir”.
Sehrai in a statement said: “When we study Karbala we observe it was social, political and religious factors that made Imam Hussain (RA) rise to challenge ‘Yazid’. A key factor was the violation of the principles of Humanity.”
The way, he said, people shared our pain and raised their voice in our support is commendable and such advocacy to the subjugated Kashmiri people is very encouraging for us and it has added a new life to the freedom sentiment of the people of our nation. “The way lakhs of people during this holy pilgrimage journey demonstrated and displayed play cards in favour of Kashmiris and paying tributes to the valiant struggle of Kashmiri people, it conveyed to the world in emphatic terms that Muslim Ummah will never leave their oppressed Kashmiri brothers and sisters alone in their just struggle, come what may.”
He said that for the last 30 years, in particular, Kashmiris are witnessing a repetition of Karbala. “Our each day is ‘Aashur’ and every occupied inch of land is ‘Karbala’. For us ‘Karbala’ never passes away and as we have to face ‘Yazidiyat’ every day and facing since decades now.”
Sehrai said, Imam Hussain (RA) and his associates while sacrificing their precious lives, conveyed that believers should in no way hesitate to offer sacrifices and support in order to save human beings from oppression and suppression.
“We, therefore, urge whole muslim world to shun political, strategic and economic expediencies and continue supporting Kashmiris at a time when we are facing worst kind of atrocities by Indian forces and highlight our rights and plights on every occasion.”
