Srinagar: In a surprising poll result from Srinagar Municipaltites Lawaypora ward, senior politician and Congress leader Tariq Qarra’s wife Asifa Hamid Qarra lost to independent candidate Fancy Jan. Officials said that from SMC’s ward No 31, Lawaypora, Asifa Tariq Karra of Congress got 501 votes while Fancy Jan (independent) got 519 votes.
Srinagar: Independent candidates have won eight wards of Municipal Committee Kargil elections. Officials said that Congress secured 5 wards. The winners include four women. The counting for the recently concluded Municipal Committee elections is underway in Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar: Independent candidates have secured a lead in the MC Sumbal elections wining 6 wards while Congress has won 5. BJP has not won a single ward out of 11 wards. The elections were held on 11 wards out of 13 in the municipal committee. The two other wards have also gone to independent candidates unopposed.
