Kashmir municipal polls: Northern Uri town records 48% turnout at 11 am

Srinagar: Uri town of northern Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday is recording brisk polling in the third phase of municipal elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said that 1724 people exercised their franchise till 11 am on Saturday. Uri municipal limits consist of 3552 registered voters.

The officials said that among the voters who polled their votes, 922 were male and 802 were female. The percentage, he said, stood at 48.54%.
