DGP sanctions Rs 9.69 lakh as scholarship for wards of Police personnel

Srinagar: The Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Dilbag Singh on Thursday granted scholarships of Rs. 9.69 lac in favour of 161 wards of serving police personnel and slain police personnel; welfare relief for sixteen retired police personnel was also sanctioned.

A police spokesperson said that 109 wards of serving police personnel were granted scholarship for securing eighty percent and above marks in class 10th during the academic session 2017-2018 and 52 wards of slain police personnel studying in different classes were granted scholarships.

“DGP also sanctioned welfare relief of rupees one lac sixty thousand in favour of sixteen retired police personnel who were found in dire need of financial assistance. Besides financial assistance of rupees fifteen thousand was sanctioned for a police man whose residential house was damaged,” the spokesperson said.
