Pakistan will never change its ‘nature’: Rajnath on Imran Khan as new Pak PM

Jammu: Against the backdrop of cricketer turned politician Imran Khan taking over as new Prime Minister of Pakistan,  Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that Pakistan will never change its nature.

“Pakistan cannot change its nature,” Mr Singh told reporters after launching “Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System” (CIBMS) here at BSF Headquarters.

He added, “they (Pakistan) must understand how to behave with their neighbour.”

“Our Prime Minister broke protocol and visited to Pakistan but still they remained the same and there was no change seen,” he added.

After assuming power, Mr Khan reached out to India, saying India and Pakistan must talk to resolve issues like Kashmir.

Taking to microblogging site Twitter, the newly-elected Pakistan Prime Minister had said, “To move forward Pakistan and India must dialogue and resolve their conflicts incl Kashmir: The best way to alleviate poverty and uplift the people of the subcontinent is to resolve our differences through dialogue and start trading.”

However, on political parties announced boycott of Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat Polls in Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Minister said, “I appeal to all those political parties boycotting elections that they must participate in the process.”

“Such elections provide an opportunity to interact and meet people,” he maintained.
