Kulgam killings: JRL calls for shutdown on Monday

Srinagar: The joint resistance leadership comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik on Saturday called for a complete shutdown on Monday against the civilian and militant killings in southern Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The JRL appealed the people to observe a complete shutdown against the killings.

The civilian, Rouf Ahmad Ganie, was killed after government forces opened fire on civilian protesters in Kulgam district of south Kashmir. The slain was hit by a bullet in his throat and died on way to the hospital.

Earlier, five militants were killed in a gunfight with government forces in Chowgam village of the district.
