Rs 5 lakh for killed, Rs 50,000 for injured in Kishtwar road accidents

Srinagar: Expressing grief over the loss of lives in the Kishtwar road accident, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik announced Rs 5 lakh for next of kin of deceased and Rs 50,000 for each of those injured, an official spokesman said here Friday evening.

He said Mr Malik has expressed grief over the loss of lives in a road accident in the Kishtwar district when a minibus carrying passengers fell into the Chenab river.

In his message, the Governor has prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families. He has wished speedy recovery to those injured in this accident.

The Governor has announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia relief for the next of the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to each of those injured in this accident. He has directed for providing free medical treatment to the injured in government hospitals.
