Srinagar: Authorities on Thursday ordered the closure of all educational institutions in Sopore in northern Kashmir in wake of the encounter between militants and government forces in the town.

Internet services have also been snapped in the town, locals.

A fierce gun battle ensued in the town after government forces launched a cordon and search operation in Arampora area of Sopore.
