Gunfight broke out in Sopore, Internet suspended

Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between militants and goverment forces after CASO was launched on late night of Wednesday in Arampora area of Teliyan Mohalla area of North Kashmir’s Sopore.
Reports reaching here said that a joint team of Police and Army’s 22RR launched cordoned and search operation in Arampora area of Teliyan Mohalla after getting specific information about presence of some militants in the area.
After searching for hours contact was established with militants after closing into the targeted spot.
SSP Sopore Javiad Iqbal said that a brief exchange of firing occurred between militants and goverment forces after contact was established, he further said that firing has stopped right now but tight cordoned is still intact.
Meanwhile internet has been suspended in Sopore for precautionary measures. Till this story was filed no fresh exhcange of firing was going on.(GNS)
