Srinagar: The two militants killed in a gunfight with government forces on Tuesday in Galoora area of Handwara have been identified as Liyaqat Ahmad, a resident of Harwan Sopore and Furqan (18), a resident of Langate area of Handwara.

The duo was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba, police officials said.

Liyaqat, according to police sources, had joined militant ranks in the month of July. 

The slain was a father of three and had married in December, 2008.
