Govt talk again? State BJP leaders, Sajjad Lone meet Ram Madhav in Delhi

Srinagar: The state BJP leaders have reinitiated steps to re-establish a government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Reports quoting sources said that on the eve of BJP’s national executive meeting, state party leaders met the party’s point-man in J&K, Ram Madhav, in Delhi on Friday to devise a strategy to reinitiate the government formation in the state.

They said that Sajjad Lone also met Madhav separately. “Before meeting Madhav, state BJP leaders held detailed discussions with Lone,” reports quoting sources said, adding that the BJP unit had already put the onus on Lone (with two MLAs) to muster support of like-minded MLAs to achieve the magic figure of 44.

On August 29, majority of the 25 BJP MLAs had emphasised the need for establishing a democratic dispensation in the state to “solve” day-to-day problems.

The talks over the government formation have again gained heat amid uncertainty over urban local bodies and panchayat elections.
