Shia-Sunni unity meet held

Srinagar: Shia-Sunni Coordination Committee held a meeting at Zadibal here in Srinagar,Kashmir’ capital on Thursday. The meeting was called to foster unity among two communities. It was presided by president Anjuman Shari Shian and senior Hurriyat leader Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi and attended by several other Hurriyat leaders.

 

The participants emphasized on the need for Shia-Sunni unity.  “Our unity is our great strength and we should always demonstrate it at all costs. It is our collective duty to denounce the persons involved in undesirable and sinful acts and trying to create a wedge between people,” the participants said.

 

On this occasion Aga Hasan depicted certain aspects of character of Muharamul Haram and paid tribute to the martyrs of Karbala.Moreover, he prayed for the whole Muslim Ummah for their religious peace, unity and integrity.

 

He condemned the government move of banning the Muharam processions from last three decades.
