Poonch: Two persons died while drowning in a river at Mendhar area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

Reports reaching  said that three youths drowned while taking a bath at a river in Mendhar.

All the three drowned, however, some locals immediately retrieved the trio in an unconscious state and taken to SDH Mendhar where two of them declared brought dead, they said.

The deceased has been identified Shakeel Ahmad (19) son of Mohd Bashir and Azhar Ahmad (16) son of Mohd Farooq of Dabraj village along the LoC, they said.

SHO Mendhar Mohd Amin while confirming the deaths due to drowning.

He said that the third one youth Waseem Akram (18) son of Mohd Shabir has been referred to JMC Jammu in critical conditions.
