Jammu: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two smugglers and rescued almost 38 animals in four separate incidents.
“Seven animals during a routine patrolling in the Rajouri district last evening. The smuggler was arrested on the spot,” Police spokesman said.
According to him a vehicle was intercepted at Chatyari area and five animals were rescued and the smuggler was detained.
“Police intercepted a truck at Narwal area of the Jammu city and rescued 10 head of cattle but the smuggler managed to escape,” he said.
In the Kathua district, 16 cattle’s were rescued but the smuggler managed to escape.
