Budgam: A motorcyclist was killed while his pillion rider sustained injuries when a tree fell upon them in Khansahib area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, police said Wednesday.

Firdous Ahmad Dar and his pillion rider Javaid Ahmad Thakray, both residents of Mujpathri were injured when a tree fell upon their motorbike at Bugroo stop, Khansahib on Tuesday evening, Station Head Officer Khansahab Zahoor Ahmad Khan said.

The duo were shifted to district hospital Budgam for treatment. However, Dar who was critically injured in the accident was referred to SK institute of medical sciences Soura for advanced treatment.

Dar succumbed to his injuries at SKMIS, while the condition of Thakray is said to be stable.

Meanwhile, police have filed a case FIR number 141/18 under section 337, 304A and started further investigations.
