Srinagar: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Tuesday has been put under house arrest ahead of Joint Resistance Leadership seminar on completion of one year of “arbitrary” arrests by NIA of Hurriyat leader’s and activists.

Mirwaiz, in his tweet said, “Placed under #HouseArrest ahead of JRL seminar on completion of one year of arbitrary arrest by NIA of Hurriyat leader’s and activists! Members from civil society, trade bodies and legal fraternity are expected to attend the seminar if it is allowed.”

Pertinatly JRL comprises of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
