Asiya Andrabi,two aides charged with sedition by NIA, shifted to New Delhi

Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA)  registered a case of sedition against Asiya Andrabi, chief of  pro-freedom group Dukhtaran-e-Milat (DeM) in Jammu and Kashmir. Asiya Andrabi, is charged with waging war against India, media reports said on Friday.

As per media reports Asiya Andrabi was shifted to Delhi along with her two aides Nahida Nasreen and Fahmeeda Sofi and  are expected to be  produced before the Patiala House Court later today.

The NIA filed an FIR against Andrabi on April 26 for allegedly advocating secession of Jammu and Kashmir from the Union of India and calling for Jihad and use of violence against the country.

In March, an FIR was registered against activists of Andrabi’s outfit for celebrating Pakistan Day. The video in which activists of the party can be singing Pakistan’s national anthem had gone viral on social media.

Andrabi, wife of jailed pro-freedom leader Dr Qasim Faktoo, was named in an earlier NIA case in which Hafiz Saeed and Hizbul Mujahideen supremo Syed Salahuddin were chargesheeted.
