Instead of invoking ESMA on striking doctors, Govt should redress their genuine demands: Qayoom Wani

Srinagar: President EJAC Abdul Qayoom Wani said that invoking draconian law like ESMA on employees have always yielded negative results.

Wani said that instead of using pressure tactics to tackle the strike of junior doctors government should resume talks with them to redress their genuine issues so that the difficulties and sufferings of the patients and human loss can be avoided in government hospitals of J&K.

Keeping in view the sufferings of patients and attendants in the hospitals, EJAC president urged upon the authorities of health department and the representatives of protesting doctors to shun the path of confrontation and resume talks to sort out the issues imacabally for the better interest of patients of JK in particular and common people in General.

He said that instead of using pressure tactics government should redress the genuine grievances of doctors because pressure tactics have never yielded positive results.

Wani lauded the role of doctors which they are playing in difficult situations to provide medical facilities to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He also appealed them to explore other ways and means of protest which may not affect the patient care in the hospitals.

Wani said that Employees joint Action committee has always protested against the anti employee laws like ESMA and will continue to oppose anti employee laws and pressure tactics aimed to suppress the genuine and democratic movement of employees.

EJAC President also urged upon the authorities of Health Department to immediately reinstate the terminated striking doctors.

Wani urged upon the worthy chief secretary for his personal intervention in resolving the grievances of doctors so that patient care in hospitals may not suffer any more.

President Health and Family welfare employees confederation and Chief Spokesman of EJAC Khursheed Ahmad Bhat and President Medical employees federation and vice president of EJAC Shabir Ahmad Langoo condemned the invoking of ESMA on striking doctors have urged upon the authorities of the health department and protesting doctors to shun the path of confrontation and resume talks for amicable solution of the issues of Doctors in the larger interest of the common people of J&K in general and patients in particular.
