Srinagar: At least  nine houses were gutted due to fire in Pandan area of Sringar’s Nowhatta late Saturday night.

An official told The Kashmir Press that the fire that engulfed nine houses in downtown area was caused due to short circuit.

He said that five houses were fully damaged due to the fire, adding four were partially damaged.

Earlier a video in which locals were seen asking fire brigade to help douse the fire went viral on social media.
