Waheed Para resigns as Secretary Sports Council

Srinagar: Secretary J&K State Sports Council Waheed Ur Rehman Para on Friday resigned from his post after submitting his resignation to Jammu & Kashmir Governor at Raj Bhawan.

“His term as secretary, Sports Council was expiring on 11-08-2019 as per the constitution (pre-Revised) of the sports council,” the statement said.

“During his tenure as Secretary Sports Council, a lot has been contributed to the development of sports culture in the state and promotion of young sports-persons of the state whom Waheed Para usually considers as the real ambassadors of peace and harmony,” the statement reads.

While thanking the employees for their immense support he said “I thank all the employees of the Sports Council for their immense support in drafting and making sports activities vibrant across the state”.

he added “they always maintained the high standards and worked over time apart from their regular duties for the smooth functioning of the activities across all the three regions, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and I hope that the mission of making J&K as Sports centric State shall be taken forward,” said Waheed Para.
