A civilian was killed and scores were inured following the intense clashes that rock Anantnag district in South Kashmir on Saturday.

The slain youth has been identified as Sheeraz Ahmad of Brakpora Anantnag.

Medical sources confirmed the youth’s death. “The killed youth was hit by pellets in his neck and throat,” they said.

Clashes erupted in Anantnag’s Ashajipora and Janglat Mandi soon after people offered Eid prayers in these places.
