Baramulla :Thousands of people including journalists and politicians attended the funeral procession of prominent Journalist and Editor Shujaat Bukhari  who was killed by unknown gunmen outside his office on Friday.

Despite rain mourners turned out in large numbers to pay homage to Bukhari who will be buried in his native village Kreeri Baramulla.

Pro freedom leader Yasin Malik and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah also attended the funeral

Bukhari an editor of Rising Kashmir was in his fifties and had survived two assassination attempts in the past. He is survived by a wife and two children.
