Srinagar: Grand Mufti Jammu and Kashmir Mufti Mohammed Bashir -ud-Din and Dy Grand Mufti Mufti Nasir-Ul-Islam in a joint statement condemned the “brutal killing” of Senior Editor Shujaat Bukhari.

Mufti expressed utmost shock and mourning for the cold-blooded murder of Bukhari along with his two PSOs at the time of Iftaar.

“Astonishingly, the incident occurred hours later when United Nations published its first ever human rights report on Kashmir demanding an international inquiry into multiple violations by India,” it said.

Statement further read that the same news was reported by Shujaat’s newspaper hours before this incident.

Mufti Nasir-Ul-Islam termed the “inhumane act deplorable” and demanded impartial probe into the matter from an international agency to thwart any further attempts to divide Jammu and Kashmir into ideological and intellectual lines.

Mufti prayed for the hereafter of Bukhari and besides condoling his family who is left in the lurch at this intent crises.
